Follow up on Chaucer Barn
Chaucer Barn in Gresham near Holt is a beautiful boutique self catering property.
We decided not to have our wedding there for it for 2 reasons
1) It is a bit far away from “our” Norfolk which is really centred around Thornham, Brancaster and surrounding area. We realised that the week leading up to the wedding would be really important to us. We want to be able to entertain at “The Old Bakery” (Mum and Dad’s house) and for the wedding venue to be close by.
2) The property is better suited to a summer wedding (where guests can spill out of the house onto the beautiful gardens) or a small winter wedding rather than spring. They have a stunning upstairs livingroom / library which is licensed and it overlooks the garden. It would be cosy and perfect in winter with a log fire burning.
However, for anyone thinking of having a Norfolk wedding I would certainly recommend it. Debbie is very helpful and can put you in touch with all the necessary suppliers etc. The property is also feature here on Mr and Mrs Smith.
